Importance of an Email Opt In List

 

 

A person who has tried sending unsolicited emails would get a lot of diverse responses from his targets.  Some receivers would send him a hate email telling him to keep off.  Most of these unsolicited emails would end up in the spam or junk mail folders of webmails and other email services so most of the time he will not get any response at all.

 

Both ways, the marketer who sent the unsolicited emails is at a losing position.  The time and effort he spent sending those emails for nothing is considered bad investment.  What more, he stands to be branded as a spammer and can face sanctions from some sites.

 

The best way to go is to use an opt-in list which contains the names and email listing of his target clients.  An opt-in is a listing of people who have consented to receive emails from the marketer.  Only when the target receiver has agreed to receiving the bulk emails should the marketer start sending him his sales pitch or other marketing strategies.

 

A person who has a massive opt in email list is off to a good start.  He ha sin his hands a potential business blockbuster considering that all of the names in his list have consented to receiving emails which in turn means they are interested in his products or services.

 

Using an opt-in listing translates to a greater percentage of sales because the receivers are already classified as a target market.  The fact that they consented to receiving the emails means they have a use for the products or services they are about to receive.  Some of them might keep the information for future use while others may actually translate it to a purchase.

 

It is not easy to build a massive opt-in listing of names and it is all the more difficult to keep the names on the list interested in the products or services being offered.  A good marketer should keep those in the opt-in listing interested and looking forward to his emails.

 

This can be done by planning or strategizing the emails he will be sending those in the list.  He should supply them with useful articles that will keep them begging for more.  People would always be interested in how to articles or ten tips to success articles.

 

The marketer should get to know his target marketer and those in his opt-in email list.  He should get to know their hobbies their quirks; in short he has to get to know his market.  Knowing what makes them tick will help him maintain his relationship with the names in the listing.

 

Also keep in constant touch with those in the opt-in list and make a survey as to what they would like to receive from you in the future.  .This is being proactive and pre-determining their needs so he can hold on to his opt-in list.

 

It would also help to encourage more subscribers by sending them e-books on and installment basis.   Subscribers who are satisfied with what they have been receiving from the marketer will definitely recommend the site to his friends and family and that means more name sin the opt-in list. 

 

Building an email opt-in list requires determination, planning and a lot of patience.  However, once you get them on that list, make sure to keep them on that list.
