Why build an opt-in mailing list?

A marketer who wants to be successful in promoting his site should start to research and to implement a proper email opt-in list.  This is a listing of names and addresses that have consented to receiving emails, newsletters and other promotional materials from him.

Every site selling goods or services should have very good, if not massive opt-in lists. AN email opt-in list can make or break any internet business and every marketer should take note of this before starting his business.

The mail opt-in list is a tool that will be very useful to the marketer from the start to the continuing phase of his business.  It is really the be-all and end-all of his internet business because without an opt-in list, there would be no one to market the products and service to.

Of course, a marketer can send his marketing information to anyone who has an email.  But since these people have not been consulted about receiving such emails, they can get angry or simply delete the email messages once they get through to the,  Any marketer would not want to waste his time doing this.

It is a different case with opt-in mail listings because the recipients of the email messages agreed and consented to the marketing emails.  This could mean they are interested in what the marketer has to offer.  And another probability is that those in the opt-in mail list would translate this interest to sales.

It takes time to build trust between the subscriber and the marketer so it is important to give them what has been promised.  If the marketer promised the subscribers they will get useful articles and ebooks by joining his opt0in list then he should stand by that promise and send them interesting and very useful articles.

If the marketer is able to maintain this relationship for a long time then trust is built between them and this can pave the way for more and a better business relationship.  Some of the subscribers would be so glad about what they have been receiving from the marketer that they may decide to recommend the site to his colleagues or to other people who are interested in the products or services.

A massive opt-in email list would mean more chances of having an audience and a target market.  Target marketing is cost effective and this can be achieved best with an opt-in list.

Marketers recommend the use of a double opt-in list which is similar to a confirmed opt-in list.  This way, the receiver made a move to confirm his interest in the information that will be supplied by the marketer.

Having a massive list of people who have confirmed their interest to receiving such information would mean that if these people took the extra effort to send a confirmation email, then there is a greater chance of them buying the products or services being offered them.

A confirmed opt-in list is better than a single opt-in list because the latter may consist of people who used the email addresses of other people in subscribing to the list.  A double opt-in list certifies that the owner of the email address got the message of the marketer and by sending him the confirmation email he is signifying his interest to be a part of that massive opt-in list.
